I am really looking forward to 2011. More precisely, I'm looking forward to the end of 2010. Some years are better than others. Some years are more challenging than others. At times, I felt this year was a test of my faith, patience and endurance, and I can at least claim victory in all three areas. Someone wise once told me there are high mountain peaks in this life, and deep valleys, and we are sure to find more growth in the valleys than we ever will at the rocky summits: therefore, thank you 2010.
It's been a long time since I wrote anything in the blogosphere. Not that there hasn't been anything to write about, for our world is forever changing, with a plethra of events, good and bad, worthy of comment. But God gave me two ears and one mouth, so I have been listening at least twice as much as talking (and writing)in the past few years. But I feel it is time to join the blogging league again, those whose passion it is to give us something they feel is worth reading. Whether anyone else feels that it is worthwhile is the risk the composer willingly takes.
I have a great respect for writers. A writer is 'one who writes', not 'one who writes for pay' or 'one who writes well', necessarily, but simply 'one who writes'. It is a lonely business that requires much thought and inner-processing, and may require much research and investigation, depending on the topic. And all these require investing something in which we have no hope of equal return - time.
I respect them for giving, spending, investing and taking their valuable time to give us all something to read.
There, my first rant (blog) is complete. It may not pass the "worthwhile to read test, but there it is. And as we head into an election year in Kamloops, and possibly in BC, I shall surley rant again.
